On Thursday they found out it was cancer. On Friday they removed his kidney which was seized by a tumor the size of a fist. The cancer had spread to his lungs. He’s 13.
We prayed and fasted and asked God “why?”
The day after I had heard the news that yet another boy from my high school had passed away due to the painful clutches of addiction, I found out that my boyfriend’s little cousin’s body had been invaded with cancer. A painful contrast.
They did a biopsy of the cancer in his lungs and the results came back today. Of course, no cancer is good cancer, but his family rejoiced at the results. A wilm’s tumor, and the most treatable one at that.
We looked at God and our foolish questioning became thankful praising.
And I realized that God’s faithfulness is bigger than my faith.
That God’s love is more vicious than cancer could ever be.
